Dear Sun Publishers,
I was wondering how
people will react when they learn that the person
who give Oprah
Wenfrey the idea for a new magazine is not only a min but that he also his to live
on welfare and with no electricity in his Canadian home. The fact is I sent
this woman a letter way back in February , in which I revealed a vision that surpassingly - for some perhaps - could hive made me
Prime-Minister
of my country , within a very short time. In that same letter I was also asking
Miss Wenfrey questions along the line is to weather she knew people who
might be entrusted in helping her start a publication. The publication I was
asking for was not spisficly "0 The Oprih Magazine" though
publication through the submissions of articles. That was
pretty much the way I was going to capture the Canadian peoples hearts; through
the writing of these articles.
Now maybe nobody it
"Harpo Productions inc. believed I would be able to place myself in the
Prememenestershep of this country that way but none the less , six (6) weeks after
I mailed that letter to Miss Wenfrey , there it was - her magazine , in book-shops , on news stands and in peoples homes. We know that it was
my letter to this woman which inspired the magazine too , simply because it
was one, a very political letter I sent and then the cover of the premiere
issue in which Oprah is wearing that long grey skirt with the white knit top
and that predominately blue background. Those colors alone would seem to suggest political inspiration; especially
when you compare that issue
with her following flaming
red issue of july/auguest.
To date I have sent
countless letters and cards to
Miss Winfrey since that first
letter which launched a magazine as
well as a number of manuscripts. None of my letters have ever been answered and the manuscripts
which have come back did so without the
simplest of rejection letters
attached to them. Now
I admit that as a
writer , there are few things
I enjoy less than
"rejection letters". Under the circumstances however , I think such a courtesy could be the least
I could expect. It is almost
as though somebody has decided
not to admit where the idea for this magazine came from and that
they think by ignoring
me , I am simply going to go away or fade into nonexistence.
I find this behavior most suprizing for a woman such as Miss Winfrey , who
over the years has perhaps sometimes mistakenly been regarded as a "champion of the people". This action
-under these circumstances would not suggest her to be any such thing
and if I am forced to put my spin on this matter
I will make it realized as far as "0 The Oprah Magazine" goes ,
this publication has been built on a foundation of "intellectual rape
and political plunder" which have caused me all sorts of "personal
injury". Should this matter
need be taken up by the courts , I
would find myself competed to seek a judgement on those grounds of
anywhere between one-hundred and forty (140) to two-hundred and eighty million
dollars ($280,000,000).
As for the
letters and cards that I have mailed to Miss Winfrey, I still have copies of them all , naturally. If you are interested in seeing these letters, especially the first one which
brought about the magazine launching
, I have made it very easy
for you to contact me ; as I have always done for Miss Winfrey over these meny months.
Other than that I can only say thank-you
for your time and that I will hope to be hearing from you in the near fucture.
Respectively
Yours
Brannon Harold Carty
